ANZ appears in 7548 of the Mossack documents, reflecting the bank's extensive work in New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Samoa and Jersey. 

By comparison, Westpac appears in 995 documents, National Australian Bank 261 documents and Commonwealth Bank just 164 documents. Most of these are references to clients' bank accounts or reference letters written for their clients when they buy a Mossack shelf company.

ANZ's figures are boosted by the Jersey operations of its Grindlays Bank subsidiary in the 1990s. ANZ sold Grindlays in 2000. More recently, ANZ had three times as many references in Mossack Fonseca documents in 2015 as Westpac.

Jennifer Stone Sorry Im not a jeweller, but it's interesting about blue diamonds have high levels of Boron in the stone. Blue diamonds are only found in a few mines around the world. These mines include the Cullinan mine near Pretoria, South Africa, and the Argyle mine in Australia. Once, blue diamonds were mined in India’s famous Golconda mine as well. I hope it helps.

Deliqa Gems Yes concentration of Boron makes it blue. But to prove the stone is natural, you don't need to see how much Boron is there. By examining the inclusions inside the stone and other factors such as spectra specific to diamonds, you can tell whether the stone is natural, synthetic or treated. Same with all gemstones.

In 1989, Kriangkrai Techamong, a Thai worker, stole jewellery and other valuable gems from the palace of Prince Faisal bin Fahd, where he was employed as a janitor.^[2] Kriangkrai had access to the prince's bedroom and hid the stolen jewellery in a vacuum cleaner bag at the palace. It included a valuable blue diamond and other gems, which Kriangkrai shipped back to his home in Lampang Province, Thailand.

An investigation launched by a team from the Royal Thai Police, headed by Lieutenant-General Chalor Kerdthes, led to the arrest of Kriangkrai and recovery of most of the stolen jewellery. Kriangkai was sentenced to seven years in prison, but he was released after three years because he confessed to the crime.

The team of Royal Thai policemen under Lieutenant-General Chalor flew to Saudi Arabia to return the stolen jewellery, but the Saudi Arabian authorities discovered that about half of it was fake and the blue diamond was missing.^[3][4]
