Man facing murder charge after serious assault - Potts Point

A man, charged in relation to a serious assault in Sydney on New Years Eve, will face court tomorrow (Tuesday 14 January 2014) on the charge of murder.
About 9.10pm on Tuesday 31 December 2013, police attended Victoria Street, Potts Point, after being alerted someone had been assaulted nearby.
Daniel Christie, aged 18, was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with serious head injuries.
He remained in a critical condition for 11 days, however died after his life support was switched off on Saturday 11 January 2014.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.
Today (Monday 13 January 2014), detectives from Kings Cross Local Area Command laid an additional charge of murder against a 25-year-old man.
He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 14 January 2014).
The 25-year-old man has also been charged with maliciously inflict grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault-related offences.
