When our Poppy asked his sister to donate bone marrow and be tested she went for the blood test then went back and collected the sample. The answer I heard over the phone was she received no money for this.....

This year, more than 130,000 Americans will be diagnosed with a serious blood disease.
Leukemia (a blood cancer) will strike 44,000 Americans this year, including 3,500 children. It will kill about half of the adults and about 700 of the children.
Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer.
Only 30 percent of patients who need a bone marrow transplant have a matching donor in their families.
The remaining 70 percent must hope that a compatible stranger can be found using the national registry.
At any given time, about 7,500 Americans are actively searching the national registry for an unrelated donor.
Only 2 percent of population is on the national registry.
A significant number of those on the national bone marrow registry cannot be located or will not donate when asked to do so. The percentages of donors who are available and willing are: 65 for Caucasians; 47 percent for Hispanics; 44 percent for Asians; 34 percent for African-Americans.
African-American patients find an unrelated donor 25 percent of the time.
Asian patients find a donor about 40 percent of the time.
Hispanic patients find a donor about 45 percent of the time.
Caucasian patients find a donor about 75 percent of the time.
Multi-racial people face the worst odds.
At least 1,000 people die each year because they cannot find a matching donor.
If an African-American finds a match on the registry, there is an 80 percent chance that the identified donor is the only match on the registry.
Bone marrow donation requires less than five percent of marrow cells.
70 percent of marrow donations use peripheral blood stem cell apheresis.
30 percent of marrow donations use the traditional method of putting a needle in your hip.
Donating bone marrow is safe: More than 35,000 people have donated bone marrow to a stranger without a single donor death.

Arson detectives reappeal for information, release CCTV of St Marys factory fire

Detectives investigating an arson attack on a factory in Sydney’s west in 2012 have released CCTV footage of the blaze.
The fire destroyed the factory on Christie Street in St Marys about 12.10am on Monday 23 January 2012. It caused an estimated $3.5 million worth of damage.
Prior to the fire, the factory had been used to manufacture and refurbish industrial drums.
Police from State Crime Command’s Arson Unit and St Marys Local Area Command have been investigating the fire under Strike Force Trentwood.
As part of a fresh appeal for information about the incident, detectives have today (Monday 20 April 2015) released CCTV footage and images of the blaze.
In particular, investigators are seeking information about four people depicted in the images. Police believe the people can assist with their inquiries into the arson attack.
Investigators are also keen to hear from anyone who saw a 2003 silver-coloured Subaru WRX wagon in the area at the time of the incident. It had a NSW registration plate: ZAM-153.
Detectives are also appealing for information about a fire at the same premises about 1am on Monday 16 January 2012. On this occasion, only the office was damaged.
Police are urging anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Trentwood investigators to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. Not a wrx thats a rare import
If cops have number plates info why haven't they done a check to get address? Even if they have been destroyed they can still get info, u have more recourses than us.
Cody said this? I dont think its a WRX, I have the same model WRX variant;
- wheel size and offset suggest N/A GX model also wheels look like standard GX hub caps not alloys.
-if it was a WRX it would have a hood scoop that would reflect light from the blaze on the bonnet like the bonnet ridges do.
-rear roof spoiler also looks like the smaller GX model, WRX has a larger wing that slightly tilts up and is longer.
