Bank SA - Umbrella bank under Westpac? Profit

While the company’s commercial lending was 2 per cent lower at $6 billion, there was growth in the SME business.
Total revenue for BankSA was 2 per cent higher at $577 million while cash earnings were up 5 per cent at $248 million.
Home lending grew 4 per cent to $13 billion and deposits grew 5 per cent to $12 billion.

St George Bank has hit back at reports that 200 technology staff are to be fired and said that any employees let go would be “no worse off”.
The comments follow reports up to 200 jobs in the IT division are to be outsourced to IBM. Westpac Banking Corp bought St George in 2008.
