Detective Michael Drury hit with a .357 magnum coincidence.

In the panel van, Davo found Smith's Black Hawk .357 magnum. The detective tucked Dirty Harry's favoured weapon in the back of his trousers as a trophy and it became his official police gun.

Emboldened by his role as a police informer, Shakespeare made even more fanciful claims in 1996 when he told the NSW Coroner that he witnessed Sydney detective inspector John Davidson murder hitman Christopher Dale Flannery, aka Mr Rent-a-Kill.
