1561-04-14	1561 celestial phenomenon over Nuremberg	Nuremberg	Holy Roman Empire	At sunrise on the 14th April 1561, the citizens of Nuremberg beheld "A very frightful spectacle." The sky appeared to fill with cylindrical objects from which red, black, orange and blue white disks and globes emerged. Crosses and tubes resembling cannon barrels also appeared whereupon the objects promptly "began to fight one another." This event is depicted in a 16th-century woodcut by Hans Glaser.	[5]	1

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a store in Potts Point this morning.

About 1am (Thursday 16 January 2014), officers attached to Kings Cross Local Area Command were called to the store on Victoria Street, following reports of an armed hold-up at the location.

It’s believed a man entered the store and threatened the attendant with a knife, before fleeing with cash a short time later.

No one was injured during the incident.

A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist forensic officers and detectives.

Investigations into the matter are continuing and officers would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist in their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 20-25 years of age, approximately 183cm tall and of a large build. He was last seen wearing a white hooded jumper and long pants.

Anyone who knows the identity of the man or has any information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

I went back to the research of 322 for the number on the Skull and Bones, then I thought about the number plate of Abe Saffron 222, so the common number was the last two digits of 22.  I looked up Lodge 22, there was a hidden meaning I felt as to the connections that this alleged occult gang had tried to reassemble the Mason’s structure for business as this drug network works like a business.

Motive, Oswald had no motive, it was the motive behind that would have to be huge.  Like the dollar and pounds for Prime Minister Harold Holt we are looking not just for the proof we are looking for the reason behind.  President Kennedy was going to withdraw troops from Vietnam was this the connection?

Two men arrested, more than $1 million worth of 'Ice' seized - SCC Asian Crime Squad

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Asian Crime Squad have arrested two men and seized more than $1 million worth of methylamphetamine following an operation in Sydney’s south-east.

Last year, detectives from the Asian Crime Squad commenced an investigation into a group allegedly involved in the supply of methylamphetamine (‘Ice’).

Shortly after 3.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 14 January 2014), detectives, with the assistance of specialist officers from the Tactical Operations Unit, arrested two men at a hotel on O’Riordan Street in Mascot.

Detectives will allege the men were in possession of more than one kilogram of ‘Ice’ and were at the hotel with the intention of selling the drugs.

The men – a 25-year-old and a 22-year-old, both from Rhodes – were taken to Mascot Police Station where they were each charged with supplying a large commercial amount of prohibited drugs.

A number of items of interest – including more than 400 grams of ‘Ice’, mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia – were seized by police during a search warrant executed at the men’s unit in Rhodes.

Police estimate that the street value of the drugs seized (approximately 1.4 kilograms in total) is $1.4 million.

The two men have been refused bail and are scheduled to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court today (Wednesday 15 January 2014).

I heard over the radio system ‘Let’s get out of here, ‘ and our man who was with us, Ruf Youngblood, I believe it was, vaulted over the front seat on top of Lyndon, threw him to the floor and said, ‘Get down.’ Senator Yarborough and I ducked our heads.

The car accelerated terrifically fast – faster and faster. Then suddenly they put on the brakes so hard I wondered if we were going to make it as we wheeled left and went around the corner. We pulled up to a building. I looked up and saw it said ‘Hospital.’ Only then did I believe that this might be what it was. Yarborough kept saying in an excited voice, ‘Have they shot the President?’ I said something like, ‘No, it can’t be.’

As we ground to a halt – we were still in the third car – Secret Service men began to pull, lead, guide and hustle us out. I cast one last look over my shoulder and saw, in the President’s car, a bundle of pink just like a drift of blossoms, lying on the back seat. I think it was Mrs. Kennedy lying over the President’s body.

They led us to the right, the left and onward into a quiet room in the hospital - - a very small room. It was lined with white sheets, I believe.

People came and went – Kenny O’Donnell, Congressman Thornberry, Congressman Jack Brooks. Always there was Ruf right there, Emory Roberts, Jerry Kivett, Lem Johns and Woody Taylor. There was talk about where we would go – back to Washington, to the plane, to our house. People spoke of how wide-spread this may be. Through it all, Lyndon was remarkably calm and quiet. Every face that came in, you searched for the answers you must know. I think the face I kept seeing it on was the face of Kenny O’Donnell who loved him so much.

It was Lyndon, as usual, who thought of it first. Although I wasn’t going to leave without doing it. He said, ‘You had better try to see if you can see Jackie and Nellie.’ We didn’t know what had happened to John. I asked the Secret Service men if I could be taken to them. They began to lead me up one corridor, back stairs and down another. Suddenly I found myself face to face with Jackie in a small hall. I think it was right outside the operating room. You always think of her – or someone like her, as being insulated, protected – she was quite alone.I don’t think I ever saw anyone so much alone in my life.

I went up to her, put my arms around her and said something to her. I’m sure it was something like, ‘God, help us all,’ because my feelings for her were too tumultuous to put into words.

And then I went to see Nellie. There it was different, because Nellie and I have been through so many things together since 1938. I hugged her tight and we both cried and I said, ‘Nellie, its going to be all right.‘ And Nellie said, ‘Yes, John’s going to be alright.’ Among her many other qualities, she is also tough."

A man, charged in relation to a serious assault in Sydney on New Years Eve, will face court tomorrow (Tuesday 14 January 2014) on the charge of murder.

About 9.10pm on Tuesday 31 December 2013, police attended Victoria Street, Potts Point, after being alerted someone had been assaulted nearby.

Daniel Christie, aged 18, was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with serious head injuries.

He remained in a critical condition for 11 days, however died after his life support was switched off on Saturday 11 January 2014.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.

Today (Monday 13 January 2014), detectives from Kings Cross Local Area Command laid an additional charge of murder against a 25-year-old man.

He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 14 January 2014).

The 25-year-old man has also been charged with maliciously inflict grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault-related offences.

Top cop vents frustration at NSW govt

A SENIOR police officer has accused the NSW government of "fluffing around the edges" of reforms that would curb drunken violence.

Kings Cross Inspector Pat Gooley, who is also the NSW Police Association vice-president, has detailed his frustrations in an open letter to the state government.

In the letter, addressed to Tourism and Hospitality Minister George Souris, Insp Gooley reflects on the scene he witnessed on New Year's Eve when Daniel Christie, 18, was allegedly knocked to the ground.

Mr Christie is in a critical condition in hospital.

Insp Gooley wrote that his heart sank as he began to realise "the name of Daniel Christie would soon become known to many, for all the wrong reasons".

Speaking to ABC radio on Tuesday, Insp Gooley said he didn't believe that Premier Barry O'Farrell and Mr Souris were genuinely doing all they could to curb alcohol-fuelled violence in Kings Cross.

If they were, he said, they would implement measures such as those trialled in Newcastle.

"I think what they're doing is really fluffing around the edges," he told ABC Radio.

"We're calling for the introduction of what's referred to as the Newcastle model.

"It's been trialled, and it's been proven and it works."

The Newcastle model involves 1am lockouts and 3am last drinks.

In his letter, Insp Gooley said it seemed as though the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) was running the minister's policies.

Minister Souris's press secretary told AAP that he would not be commenting on Mr Gooley's letter and Premier Barry O'Farrell is on leave.

Comment is being sought from Acting Premier Andrew Stoner.

The family of a man killed in a shooting incident in Sydney’s east last July have joined police in appealing to the public for information that will help detectives find those responsible for the man’s death.

Around 10pm on Monday 8 July 2013, police were called to the rear car-park of a residential unit block at Eastlakes.

Police were told a group of men who were standing in the car-park were fired upon by the occupants of a vehicle, before the men in the car-park returned fire towards the car. One man, Tyrone Slemnik – a 42-year-old member of the Hells Angels – died at the scene. A 25-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Those in the car fled from the scene before police arrived.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad formed Strike Force Shenton to investigate the shooting and have arrested and charged three men to date.

However, officers are yet to charge anyone for Mr Slemnik’s death and are hoping members of the public can provide the necessary information to ensure the person or people responsible are caught.

Mr Slemnik’s brother, Zoltan Slemnik, said the family are continuing to struggle without Tyrone, who was a father of four children.

“We don’t want any other family to go through the pain we are going through,” Mr Zoltan Slemnik said.

“We’ll never see Tyrone grow old, and his kids will be forced to grow up without their Dad.

“If anyone out there has information that can help police catch whoever killed Tyrone, please contact Crime Stoppers.

“We want them taken off the street so that no other family has to endure the hell we have experienced every single day since my brother’s murder.”

Detectives are continuing to conduct a number of searches for evidence relating to the shooting. Last month, on Tuesday 23 December 2013, police divers performed a search of the Cooks River in Kyeemagh, recovering a number of items of interest including mobile phones.

This search followed the discovery of a firearm, which police have matched to the shooting in Eastlakes. The firearm was handed in to police in September 2013.

Senior Homicide Squad investigator, Detective Inspector Angelo Memmolo, said there are a number of people out there with information that could help police track down those responsible for Tyrone’s death.

“The investigation has yielded some strong leads,” Detective Inspector Memmolo said.

“Yet, we know there are a number of people out there who have information but have not yet spoken to police.

“We don’t need to know who you are; all we need is the information you have to hand. You can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.

“Mr Slemnik’s family are still deep in mourning and they won’t be able to move on until those responsible for his death are put before the court.”

To date, three men have been charged in relation to the shoot-out.

- On Thursday 3 October 2013, police arrested a 37-year-old man at a home in Cranbrook. The man, an alleged member of the Hells Angels, was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with shoot with intent to cause grievous bodily harm by Homicide Squad detectives. Police will allege the man was part of the group who fired back at the black vehicle. He remains before the courts.

- Also on Thursday 3 October 2013, a 28-year-old man was arrested at Kingswood and charged with concealing a serious indictable offence. He remains before the courts.

- On Friday 4 October 2013, detectives arrested a 25-year-old man at a home at Casula. The man, a member of the Hells Angels, was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with concealing a serious indictable offence. Police will allege the man was part of the group fired upon while standing in the car park; he was injured during the incident. He remains before the courts.

Detectives warn people to be wary of credit card skimming following arrest of man - SCC Fraud and Cybercrime

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Fraud & Cybercrime Squad are reminding people of the importance of regularly checking their financial statements, following the arrest of a man for credit card skimming offences.

Earlier today (Tuesday 7 January 2013), police arrested a 38-year-old man at a property in Yagoona, before taking him to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with:

Seven counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception;

Seven counts of recklessly dealing in the proceeds of crime; and

One count of possessing identity information to commit a serious offence.

He was bail refused to appear in Bankstown Local Court today. In court, police will allege the man used cloned credit cards to fraudulently purchase a number of goods from a retail outlet in Bondi Junction on Sunday 15 December 2013.

Police will allege the man is part of an organised crime group involved in high-level credit card fraud, and that his arrest and the seizure of the credit card manufacturing equipment will compromise the ability of the group to commit further frauds.

Officers will further allege that certain members of the group regularly dye their hair and alter their appearances in order to avoid detection when using fraudulent credit cards to purchase products.

The Acting Commander of the Fraud and Cybercrime Squad, Detective Acting Superintendent John Watson, said people should regularly check their credit card statements in order to quickly identify any suspicious transactions.

“These days most people can access their credit card balances and statements via their computers, tablets and smartphones,” Detective Acting Superintendent Watson said.

“People should check their statements regularly and if they spot a random purchase or any suspicious transactions they should contact their financial institution immediately.”

Strike Force Hereford is an ongoing Fraud and Cybercrime Squad investigation into the fraudulent use of skimmed and cloned credit cards. Inquiries are continuing and Strike Force Hereford detectives anticipate making further arrests.

Meanwhile, with many people hitting the shops as part of the January sales, police are urging consumers to protect their financial data and reduce the risk of their credit card and banking details being stolen:

• Be alert when approaching an ATM and take your time to visually inspect the machine prior to inserting your card for any suspicious device or covering in the vicinity of the card reader;
• If you notice something suspicious, report it to the owner of the ATM immediately and don't conduct any transactions;
• Always use your hand or an item to cover your PIN when entering it at an ATM or EFTPOS terminal;
• Never share your PIN with anyone, and do not write it down and keep it with your card;
• Never let your card out of your sight when paying for goods and services;
• Be vigilant and inspect your bank statements for unauthorised transactions and report any unauthorised transactions immediately to your bank; and
• Report any suspicious activity to the police.
