On the morning of November 22, President Kennedy attended a breakfast at the hotel and afterward addressed a crowd at an open parking lot.  The President liked outdoor appearances because more people could see and hear him.  Before leaving the hotel, the President, Mrs. Kennedy, and Kenneth O’Donnell talked about the risks inherent in Presidential public appearances.  According to O’Donnell, the President commented that “if anybody really wanted to shoot the President of the United States, it was not a very difficult job–all one had to do was get a high building someday with a telescopic rifle, and there was nothing anybody could do to defend against such an attempt.” Upon concluding the conversation, the President prepared to depart for Dallas.

8:45 a.m.
President Kennedy appears before a large crowd of two thousand on-lookers gathered in the Hotel Texas parking lot.  Governor Connally of Texas is there and Lyndon Johnson (LBJ) briefly introduces the President as “our fearless leader”.  Kennedy gives a planned and uninspired speech of 6 minutes and then works the crowd before returning into the Hotel Texas.  A light rain is falling.

9:00 a.m.

9:22 a.m.
The President beckons Agent Duncan to the head table and asks him to  ask Mrs. Kennedy to come down to the ballroom and to ask the orchestra to play “The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You” when she enters.  Agent Clint Hill advises Mrs. Kennedy that JFK expects her downstairs in the Ballroom.

9:25 a.m.
Jackie Kennedy appears at the breakfast wearing a pink suit and pill box hat.  She is warmly received.  The orchestra plays “The Eyes of Texas are upon you”.

9:55 a.m.
At the Texas Hotel in Fort Worth, JFK and Jackie have returned to Suite 850.  JFK informs Kenny O’Donnell that the Presidential party will leave at 10:40 a.m.  Jackie asks, “We have a whole hour?”  JFK asks her if she is enjoying the trip. “Oh, Jack,” she replies “campaigning is so easy when you’re President.”

After President Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy return to their suite shortly after 10 a.m. President Kennedy telephones former Vice President John Nance Garner at his home in Ulvade, Texas, to wish him a happy 95th birthday.  The Kennedys spent time looking at the art exhibit that had been mounted in their suite especially for their visit including a Van Gogh, a Monet, and a Picasso.

Aides point out an advertisement in the day’s Dallas Morning News accusing the President of disloyalty to the country through “softness on communism”.  At this point  Kennedy muses out loud about how easy it would be to assassinate a traveling President (See: William Manchester “Death of a President” (1967, p. 121).  Before the Kennedys depart for the motorcade, the President reiterates (on the telephone) to aide Lawrence F. O’Brien the importance of getting Senator Yarborough to ride in the same car with Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, the V.P. that had been introduced at 8:45 a.m. (two hours before) as, “the greatest Texan that ever lived.”

10:02 a.m.

10:40 a.m.
The Kennedys and Governor Connally enter a white convertible waiting in front of theTexas Hotel, a car borrowed by the Secret Service from professional golfer Ben Hogan.  There are waves and cheers from the onlookers.  The motorcade leaves for Carswell Air Force Base.

11:17 a.m.
Kennedy departs from Carswell AFB onboard Air Force One to fly to Love Field (DFW) in Dallas, Texas.  The air distance is about 35 miles.  The flight takes 13 minutes
about none (9) minutes.

At 11:40 a.m.., c.s.t., on Friday, November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy, Mrs. Kennedy, and their party arrived at Love Field, Dallas, Tex.

The eight cars comprising the motorcade are lined up and waiting on the tarmac at Love Field.

Dallas Deputy Police Chief (of Services) George L. Lumpkin is the driver of the pilot car.  In the pilot car is Jacob L. “Jack” Puterbaugh and Lieutenant Colonel George Whitmeyer.  The pilot car is the first car in the motorcade, usually traveling about 1/4 mile (1,300 feet) (1.5 minutes at 10 mph) ahead of the main motorcade.  TheWarren Commission fails to interview any of those in the pilot car.

The lead car is an unmarked four-door white 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 (police interceptor) driven by Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry.  The Presidential limousine, a 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible is the second vehicle.  The third car is the Presidential follow-up car, Secret Service car #1, a 1956 Cadillac limousine convertible carrying ten (10) aides and agents (including those on the running boards) code-named the Queen Mary.  The Vice Presidential limousine, a 1964 Lincoln Continental convertible,  is the fourth vehicle.  Vice Presidential follow-up car   Press pool car, (on loan from the telephone company)  Press Car:

The motorcade was originally scheduled to leave Love Field at 11:30 a.m.  It was anticipated that it would take between 38 and 45 minutes to reach the Dallas World Trade Mart, arriving at the Trade Mart about 12:15 at the latest.  This itinerary would put the leading cars of the motorcade at Dealey Plaza somewhere between 12:03 and 12:10, or at Dealey Plaza for a “High Noon” rendezvous.

11:50 a.m.
The presidential motorcade leaves Love Field.
The motorcade left Love Field shortly after 11:50 a.m., and proceeded through residential neighborhoods, stopping twice at the President’s request to greet well-wishers among the friendly crowds. Each time the President’s car halted, Secret Service agents from the “follow-up” car moved forward to assume a protective stance near the President and Mrs. Kennedy.

The 11 mile route of the Kennedy motorcade through Dallas was: left turn from the south end of Love Field to West Mockingbird Lane, right on Lemmon Avenue, right at the “Y” on Turtle Creek Boulevard, straight on Cedar Springs Road, left on NorthHarwood Street, right on Main Street, right on Houston Street, sharp left on Elm Street, through Triple Underpass, right turn up ramp to North Stemmons Freeway, to Dallas Trade Mart at 2100 North Stemmons.

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The motorcade follows a route through Dallas, during which the president stops the car several times to talk to citizens who approach his limousine.

12:28 p.m.

September 24, 1964 The Warren Commission’s report is submitted to LBJ by Chief Justice Earl Warren

The lead story in The New York Times says that “the commission analyzed every issue in exhaustive, almost archeological detail.” A Times editorial says that “the facts--exhaustively gathered, independently checked and cogently set forth--destroy the basis for conspiracy theories that have grown wedlock in this country and abroad.”

Of the $1.2 million allocated to the investigation, $608,000 went to the cost of printing the report and the 1500 copies of its 26 volumes.

Nomads clubhouse raided - Strike Force Raptor

Premises have been raided in Girraween overnight as part of a Strike Force Raptor operation targeting the Nomads OMCG.

Police received information that the building was being used to supply alcohol and was illegally set up as an OMCG clubhouse.

About 9.15pm yesterday (Friday 6 November 2013), officers attached to Strike Force Raptor, the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS), the Police Dog Unit, and Holroyd Local Area Command, executed a search warrant on the building in Wiltona Place.

Alcohol, cash and other items were seized during the operation; 22 people were searched and issued with written pre-consorting warnings. Two firearm prohibition orders were also served.

Police are also examining the alleged breach of the Development Application of the premises, under the Environmental Planning and Protection Act, due to it being used as an illegal clubhouse.

Investigations are continuing.

Judyth Baker wrote the following on her Facebook Page and it is worth reading because she makes it clear the theory, by John Armstrong, of two IDENTICAL Oswald's by blood has some serious problems with it. We know Oswald was being ordered by his CIA superiors to cast himself as a Castro sympathizing communist patsy, and was also impersonated on various occassions by SIMILAR impersonators; such as in the sniper's nest and at the Texas Theater, but that may very well have been the extent of it. In Judyth's words:

There are serious issues with Armstrong. First, he decided not to interview me AT ALL because I was NLOT pregnant in 1963 when I posed as Marina in New Orleans. He said I could not have posed as her, even though most of the posing I did was BEFORE MARINA ARRIVED. Fact: he did not want to interview me because it would have destroyed his huge book. He provides valuable new research as to the rifle and revolver and why Lee could not have purchased them, for which he deserves credit. However, he makes serious errors. i will give a few examples. (1) he contends that Lee came from a family that spoke Russian and he learned it from birth. He repeats this many times in his book. FACT: Lee practiced his Russian all the time and had a box of flash cards in Russian that i saw him use a number of times while i was with him, and I also was with him in the Tulane music listening room when he checked out a Russian language lesson record, a big black vinyl one. FACT: an anonymous woman called from New York to Mrs. Tippit and told her that Lee's father and uncle were communists who had emigrated from Hungary. From this anonymous phone call Armstrong rests his entire theory that Lee spoke Russian from childhood. FACT: Lee's half brother, John Pic, had married a Hungarian girl and it was John Pic's father-in-law and his brother who spoke Hungarian (not Russian--many Hungarians knew Russian, but it was their second language and they spoke Hungarian as the number one language--my grandparents were Hungarian). So he mixed up this tipster's info and said lee knew Russian from childhood, while "Lee' knew none. He went on to say that Ernst Titovets, Lee's best friend in the USSR, said "Harvey" was fluent in Russian, but Titovets is going to speak at the Arlington Convention on the 23rd, and he has told us that Lee (called "Harvey" by Armstrong) worked hard to learn Russian and he never said he was fluent from the story, so Armstrong misquoted Titovets. FACT: Robert Oswald HAD to know both "Harvey" and "Lee" since he has the photos of "both" men on his wall, as can be seen in Thanksgiving movie clips. FACT: I could not find any interviews of Robert Oswald, Lee's brother, in Armstrong's book conducted by ARMSTRONG, who should have asked him if he knew 'both' Lee and "Harvey." So he did not interview me nor Robert Oswald for his book. FACT: Armstrong says "Harvey": in New York was nine inches shorter than "Lee" who was big and strong. QUESTION: Why would CIA ever believe these two very different height boys would grow up to be able to take each other's places? FACT: By saying there is basically only "Lee" impersonating "Harvey" the actual impersonators are let off the hook and people stop trying to find traces of them, thinking they are all "Lee." FACT: Lee told me that he was often called HARVEY in school to tease him and make him fight. Teachers sometimes called him "Harvey" because they heard the other boys call him that and thought it was his preferred name, when he HATED the name "Harvey" and would fight a guy who called him that. For this reason, "Harvey" was used to taunt him to fight, and teachers picked it up. That does not mean that a "Harvey" and NOT a "Lee" attended school there, juyst because records show a Lee attending, and yet teachers remembered a "Harvey" whose records sometimes, also, vanish (because he is really LEE). FACT: if "Harvey" is not "Lee" why is the man arrested by police, who Armstrong calls "Harvey" wearing an ID bracelet that clearly says LEE? FACT: Police get many tips from tipsters and most do not pan out. Armstrong uses every tip he can find that supports "Lee" being in the US, for example, when "Harvey" is in the USSR. But Lee was a spy--the real Lee who was in Russia. At the height of the Cold War, no less. To get a job, he said he had just left the marines, but also, some records were generated in the US to make it harder to trace him as having lived in the USSR. FACT: Armstrong did not understand that many records in the marines that he was looking at were deliberately obscured or altered to hide Lee's true identity. That doesn't mean there was a "Henry" or a "Harvey" as well as a "Lee." There is much, much more. The worst problem is that there was no need to have to switch kids and raise them for years with dual families and all of that. There had to be two mother Marguerites, for example: he does not understand the devastation that thyroid deficiency causes (I suffer from it myself, and it ruined my looks).Marguerite's looks were ruined by thyroid deficiency--she gained weight, stopped wearing heels, lost hair, and aged quickly. Armstrong uses photos of Marguerite when she was younger versus when she was older as if they are two separate women, when they in fact wear identical real pearl earrings throughout, both keep losing jobs and moving to the same cities throughout, both somehow are "Marguerite"to the entire Murret family (including "Harvey''s" Marguerite whose sister is Lillian--Lillian in fact, along with her husband and their many children all have to know there were two Oswalds--both "Harvey" and "Lee" since they KNOW the addresses of "Lee's" Marguerite as well as of "Harvey's" Marguerite. In one photo, Lillian is identified as Marguerite, as well. Ed Voebel, Lee's friend at Bearegard Jr. High, also has to know 'both' Oswalds since he visits Exchange Place and is "Harvey's" friend but always calls him "Lee" in the historic record. A teacher there said little Harvey got hurt by a piano falling on him and had to be transported home to Exchange Place at the same time that Lillian Murret says LEE is living there with his mother. The teacher is supposed to have remembered "Harvey" very well because he was in ONE home room ONE semester, decades ago, and he 'watched' her teach a girl's P E class after school sometimes. She remembers him as "Harvey" even though "Lee" is registered at the school. There is much, much more I can say, and eventually will write, about this Harvey and Lee theory, especially regarding the exhumation where everyone was surprised to find "Harvey" (that is, LEE) in the grave. they decided his head had been replaced and other nonsense, since Harvey had a mastoidectomy that did not show up on the autopsy. However, lee had plastic surgery when he was hospitalized in MINSK USSR for an adenoid operation. he was supposed to stay only a few days but remained there two weeks (got some plastic surgery done, he told me so). This tucked up the scar under his ear, so it did not show up on the autopsy report, yet showed up on the exhumed skull-hence the legend the head had been replaced, helped along by the head being dislocated from the skeleton because the tiny cervical vertebrae cannot hold the heavy skull if it rolls, as it certainly did when the coffin was being lifted out of the broken vault. I can say much about why the skull cut done in autopsy was not visible, having to do with semi-mummification of adipose tissues of the scalp...ugh. I assure you that the only reason Lee looked so strange in the coffin before his burial was because his tissues had bled out, collapsing the muscles that made his face rounder and his entire body more muscular than it looks in the autopsy photos.... It was him. There's more to say, but hope this suffices for now.
While John Armstrong has contributed new files to the case which are valuable, he errs as to his theory. One matter which I didn’t mention, above, is the idea that Lee and "Harvey" went to two different schools. In our long exchange of talk about New York, Lee commented to me (and I first told researchers about this in 2000) that he had not attended enough days in school in New York to be allowed to pass and advance to the next grade, when they returned to New Orleans. "Nobody in the family had ever been held back," he told me, "and Ma was not about to put up with this, if New York called and told my school I shouldn't be allowed to go on to the next grade." I remember quite clearly the solution: Marguerite got a Mafia associate to get into the school records and "make sure" Lee had enough attendance days. To back that up, there was an attendance record created at another school at the same time in Texas (this had to be in Fort Worth). The idea was to make sure Lee looked like he was attending school in Texas, where his brothers had previously gone to school, when he was actually attending in New Orleans. Armstrong has used this as evidence of two Oswald’s, even though in other places in his book he has "Lee" and "Harvey" attending the same school, one fulltime, the other part-time, in the Dolly Shoe scenario, of which I've written an essay explaining the problems he created by saying the Jr. high got out at 4:30 (it got out at 3:30), that the shoe store closed at 5:45 (stores closed at 6:00) all to make it 'impossible' for "Harvey" to have worked there part-time, so has him working fulltime while "Lee" attends school fulltime, poor Harvey doesn't... atop this, Lee (the real Lee) clearly wrote that he worked TEN WEEKS for a shoe store...which Armstrong tried to make seem just two weeks. How did he do that? By assuming that Lee (Harvey) did not start working there until he got his official work permit. Sorry, things were a lot looser back then, and only when the manager was sure he would keep Lee on did he apply for a work permit for him. Lee's W-2 form was signed weeks earlier, the same date as his mother, Marguerite, who also applied and was hired to work there. Only by assuming Lee didn't work a lick until weeks later --and cutting off times open for the store and times that school got out, in an effort to 'prove' Lee could not have worked as many hours as it would take to show part-time work for the pay given, does Armstrong try to convince readers that "Harvey" had to work fulltime for a couple of weeks. It wasn't so. For example, Armstrong does not count the day after Easter, when school was out, as a day that Lee could work there fulltime. When this is added, the figures come out correctly for a generally part-time job where Lee would pick up shoes and tidy up for an hours or so every day, for some ten weeks, including a fulltime day on the Monday following Easter, which was a special sale day. Then the hours for part-time work add up.

Give Errol Morris any topic (the more obscure and bizarre the better), and he'll likely dazzle you with what he can come up with. And as a testament to his powers of narrative force, all the famed documentarian needs is about six minutes to let his latest short, an endeavor for New York Times where he frequently writes, to say more about the JFK assassination than Oliver Stone did in his own three hour movie (which is a still great watch).

"The Umbrella Man" focuses on the lone, mysterious titular figure present in Dealey Plaza that day, who has been the subject of great debate for conspiracy theorists for decades. However, author Josiah "Tink" Thompson, who wrote the book "Six Seconds In Dallas," gives an utterly fascinating breakdown of the surprising truth about who that man was and why he was the only person in Dallas that bright, warm day, walking around with an umbrella.

"You can never on your own think up all the non-sinister, perfectly valid explanations," Thompson explains, and in Morris' typically beautiful way, and aided by a great score, we find out as always, that truth is so much stranger than fiction. This is some pretty great stuff, and the first of what Morris hopes will be a multi-part examination of the assassination (awesome). Watch below, and bear in mind, this is only a small portion of a six-hour interview Morris had with Thompson. Astounding.

The first of the two head shots came from the Grassy Knoll and struck at Zapruder frame 313 causing the head to explode in what Dr. Donald Thomas has labelled a typical “Kronlein Schuss” (named for the German ballistics expert who first demonstrated the effect with clay-filled skulls). The energy deposited as the bullet passed through the brain imparted a momentum so great that a temporary cavity was formed. Consequently, a violent wave of hydraulic pressure was applied to the cranium causing it to burst open. The effect was worsened by fractures radiating from the point of entrance giving way under pressure from the brain fluid and macerated tissue, which then burst out through the upper right side of the skull. As forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht told me, the bullet that did the damage was “most likely was some kind of 'soft lead' (i.e., frangible) ammunition rather than the kind of bullet that is the 'hero' of the SBT” which was “military type ammunition that would have produced a different pattern of fragmentation and overall craniocerebral damage. According to Dr. Wecht, “A FMJ [full metal jacket] bullet should not produce” the “lead snowstorm within the brain” that is seen on the autopsy X-rays. [9] This “soft lead” bullet came in at a high, almost 60° angle and struck tangentially at the right temple near the hairline. Breaking up as it penetrated, it took, as objects in motion tend to do, the path of least resistance so that it was deflected upwards and leftwards; exiting high in the posterior near the midline.

HERE IS MY REPLY: Dear Homer: The Lord asked us to treat others as we would like to be treated, and I knew how tired of singing that song you had to be!
But it meant a lot to me, and surely to Lee. Your song puts a human face on my Lee, a good man who served as an anti-Castro spy for our country and also served our country as a cold war spy in the USSR. I was present when he got his passport in only 24 hours, a year after returning to our country. When he was arrested, he was wearing his Marine ring. The Marines, as you know, pledge to obey the President, and Lee told me he had infiltrated the group that intended to kill JFK. He was part of an 'abort team' that was trying to save Kennedy and they had to frame him and kill him or the plot would have been exposed, a plot Lyndon Johnson knew of and approved. The films of LBJ show him ducking down in his car BEFORE the first shot is fired. He was in a bright blue car instead of a dark car, aso nobody would make a mistake, and he pretended he was afraid, buit yet he waited in Air Force One's plane to get the oath of office, then took a grin and a wink from Albert Thomas, a congressman who became his aide. He pretended he knew nothing and told FBI's Hoover that he wondered if a shot had been fired at him. But at Parkland Hospital, his first phone call while the President lay dying was to his stock broker, telling him to sell "that damned Halliburton stock" that his wife owned, because he was going to rev up the situation in Vietnam. He made millions upon millions though a 'public servant' all his life on fixed incomes.
Lee is now becoming known as a hero. It has taken time to get the truth out, but people are becoming aware, and nobody trusts or believes the media and their 'now we have proof' TV specials that every year try to 'prove' Lee killed JFK, despite witnesses such as myself who know better. I was in love with Lee-- and he with me--and he told me he'd probably die.
They retouched photos of him to make him look like he was 'smirking' and put in the papers that he was 'proud' of being a communist, when in fact a stenographer in Fort Worth came out and told the papers that he was writing an anti-communist book against communism, which he was. I attach two photos taken at the same time showing a so-called 'communist salute' which was no more than an instant of Lee showing his handcuffs to reporters who were surprised to see him handcuffed (these days, they handcuff little kids and grandma's, but back then we had a country whose people were not afraid of their own police). You will see the two photos, taken the same instant, that in one there is even a drop of white-out near his mouth, retouching paint, and that his mouth goes both up and down. The result is a 'smirk' that was retouched. The other photo was taken the same instant and shows he was not smiling at all. They framed him many other ways, too. One person who said he did not see Lee shooting Tippit got shot in the head and then agreed that he DID see Lee shooting Tippit. Another witness to the Tippit murder could not identify him until police asked her to "look again at number Two" not once, but twice. This was the same lady who stated she tried to talk to Tippit who could not speak intelligible for twenty minutes when ambulance came in five minutes and Tippit was found to have died instantly.
Lee never owned a rifle. That rifle was a mail order piece of junk, he was a Marine, and he had plenty of money to buy a rifle anywhere in Dallas. He left $160 behind for his wife (that is equal to $1300 today) and also his wedding ring (we had hoped to get married, and by leaving his ring behind, he signified that Marina was not the woman of his choice. Had he escaped alive, we would have married in Mexico.
There is a nasty website that always comes up first written by a team of people along with John McAdams, who never met me. They even stole documents off my computer and then altered them. When I tried to correct them, they claimed I was trying to change my story even though the original documents were in the hands of researchers by then. It has been a long battle to clear Lee's name, but we're winning. Everyone who reads the truth about Lee-- and it IS out there--knows that the Warren Commission is obsolete and forty-none years out of date. The lies of the media started with Dan Rather, who told the people the day after the assassination that he saw the famous Zapruder film. Well, he said he saw the President's head thrown 'violently forward' when, in fact, Jim Garrison (see the film JFK) shows the film they thought would never be released to the public, and the President's head was actually thrown violently BACKWARDS--and to the left. Kennedy was shot from the front. Yes, shots came from the back, too, but they line up from the Dal Tex building and possibly from the LEFT HAND CORNER OF THE SIXTH FLOOR. The oil-rich friend of LBJ, Harold Byrd, owned the TSBD and when he sold it, he TOOK OUT THE WINDOW FRAME ON THE SIXTH FLOOR ON THE OPPOSITE END OF THE 'SNIPER'S NEST' and kept it as a souvenir.
You have done a lot of good by singing LEE HARVEY WAS A FRIEND OF MINE and getting it on YouTube. It is helping to undo some of the evil lies that were spread about Lee, who loved animals and kids and his President. I thank you for that, and will always be grateful.
